The Royal College of Agriculture in England found that attentiveness increases up to 70% when plants are in the classroom.
Here are some great plants for the classroom and others rooms that will promote healthier living and learning:
- Chinese Evergreens: These plants will tolerant low light, so they’re perfect in a classroom setting. It has dark green leaves, or variegated leaves that look great while purifying the air. - Spider Plants: Grow well in indirect light. According the research, this plant removes formaldehyde from the air. It’s an interesting plant to look at with its dangling tight rosettes of arching leaves.
- Peace Lilies: Grow well in low light. They’re extremely durable. Their beautiful, white flowers purify the air and smell terrific.
- Pothos: This plant is very hardy and needs some sun light to look its best. They grow vines of green or variegated foliage that trail out of the pot to make an incredible-looking plant for the classroom or dorm.
- Gerbera Daisy: This is a great plant with cheery flowers to liven up learning. Plus, they remove carcinogens from the air.
