A simple, elegant English Gardens design for an edible garden is the fruition of the owners’ increasing love of vegetable gardening. It’s also the winner of a first place award in the 12th Annual Design Awards in the Garden/Produce category from Detroit Home magazine; and the recipient of a Gold Award from the Michigan Green Industry Association.
Designer Valerie Tarquini designed a series of 14- and 20-inch-high raised beds in a u-shape with a standard lilac as a focal point. There’s plenty of space for seasonal edibles of all kinds. A beautiful painted aluminum fence provides year-round protection against unwanted visits from animals. Pathways are made of diamond dust, ensuring that the entire garden is low-maintenance, easy to keep clean and orderly.
The entrance to the kitchen garden is framed by a simple arbor centered on the lilac tree. In the center a charming, rustic metal bistro set was added for resting and relaxation.
Installation was done by English Gardens Installation team, making the entire project a seamless, easy experience for the owners.
