People who work at English Gardens have, of course, a passion for anything green, flowering and naturally beautiful. This is the third post in a series, featuring a selection of our associates’ favorite flowers and plants.

Geranium-Calliope Red
Bloom Time: Summer.
Sun Exposure: Full Sun.
Deer Resistant.
Calliope Geraniums combine the best features of ivy and geraniums: Drought-tolerance, semi-trailing habits and a mounding habit that quickly fills a container or hanging basket. The flowers, are of course, their best feature. The deep red blossoms (looking for the perfect red for the 4th?) have a stunning semi-double flower.
Butterfly Marguerite Daisy Argyranthemum
Bloom Time: Planting to Hard Frost.
Sun Exposure: Part Sun to Sun.
The spectacular bright lemon-yellow daisies bloom all season long, giving your outdoor landscape a beautiful pop of color.
Begonia, Big Red
Bloom Time: Planting to Frost.
Sun Exposure: Shade to Full Sun.
Resists Deer.
This is the largest, most vigorous begonia out there! It blooms will be a stunner in any outdoor landscape this summer. It’s low-maintenance too, as it does not require deadheading and will thrive in both shade and full sun. The bright pinkish red flowers add beautiful color to a companion in a container or on their own!
Superbells Apricot Punch, Cherry Red, Holy Moly, Lemon Slice
Bloom Time: Planting to Hard Frost.
Sun Exposure: Part Sun to Sun.
Deadheading Not Necessary.
Heat Tolerant.
Whichever color you choose, these low-maintenance plants have continuous blooms right through the fall, offering a vibrant array of color all season long. The flowers are abundant, small double petunia-like blossoms. They have a cascading growth pattern, making them a beautiful choice for containers.
Vermillionaire Large Firecracker Cuphea
Bloom Time: Planting to Frost.
Sun Exposure: Sun to Full Sun.
Deadheading Not Necessary.
Heat and Drought Tolerant.
Abundant yellow orange flowers bloom all season long. The blossoms have a long, cylindrical shape, making them loved by hummingbirds. It’s a heat lover and will do best in warm gardens with bright, direct sunlight.
Lemon Coral Sedum
Bloom Time: Grown for Foliage.
Sun Exposure: Part Sun to Sun.
Heat Tolerant.
A tough-as-nails groundcover for landscapes and spiller for containers, this beautifully textured succulent is vigorous and drought tolerant. Its lime green and yellow foliage pairs well with other vigorous sun-loving plants. Lemon Coral is a breeze to grow in full sun and very well-drained soil.

Attracts Birds and Hummingbirds
Resists Deer
The stunning chartreuse foliage adds vibrancy to any landscape or container and is good for both sun and shade locations. Coleus is typically grown for its beautiful foliage, not its flowers. To keep foliage in top shape, pinch off the blooms as they appear.
