English Gardens opened its doors in 1954 with a single store in Dearborn Heights. Today, 10 second-generation owners oversee the day-to-day operations of six retail stores and a full-service, award-winning landscape design and installation company. We are consistently voted THE BEST by readers of The Detroit News.

Most recently, we received the 2015 IGC (Independent Garden Center) Retailer of the Year Award, an annual award that’s presented to a garden center demonstrating notable leadership and innovation. The award was established in memory of Dick Morey, founder of IGC Magazine and an advocate for the independent sector.
