Less than a week until March is here and the signs of spring start rolling in. One of those signs is the robin.

The robin
The red-breasted robin has been the official state bird of Michigan for nearly 86 years now. The Michigan Audubon Society pushed for its adoption as state bird until legislators made it official in 1931.
In warmer weather, it can be seen often on lawns looking for worms, bugs, seeds and berries. It likes to nests in shrubs, trees and sheltered windowsills.
When you wake up in the morning and hear the birds singing, robins are usually the first to make their voices heard. It’s always a nice sound, because it means beautiful birds and beautiful weather!
