Succulents and cactus have claimed the top spot in “trendy” house plants over the last few years. With their easy care, versatility and great value, they make great house plants for newbie plant parents, and great additions for seasoned plant owners.
Succulents and cacti are one of the easiest plants to care for. They do well in almost any indoor condition and are extremely forgiving. Because they store water within their stems and roots, they don’t require a lot of attention. Succulents typically require minimum watering and bright light, but can bounce back quickly if they are neglected.
Succulents are versatile little plants. They’re available in a variety of colors: Pinks, reds, yellows, and greens; as well as a variety of sizes and shapes allowing them to fit well with your current décor. Or create their own unique look. Pairing flowering plants with green plants and mixing colors and textures allows you to create a custom look based on your home’s conditions. Some varieties will grow low and wide, others grow tall providing you plenty of options.
Succulents are extremely flexible in their growing conditions. They can be potted individually, paired with other succulents or even added to other flowering plant containers to create a unique look. Some larger varieties like Jade work well on their own, and can grow very large.
Latest trends show succulents displayed in terrariums, cactus gardens, single pots and more.
