Just bring in a fresh sample of the problem into one of our many retail stores across the Detroit Metro area. One of our experts will diagnose your gardening ailment and write a “Plantscription” to help get your plant or lawn healthy and happy again. Plantscriptions offer detailed recommendations so you can successfully treat the problem. Both conventional and completely organic solutions are available.

Tropical plants can be a perfect patio addition, and are also great accents for flower beds. In their containers, tropical plants can be enjoyed outside throughout the summer months. Be sure to adjust plants slowly to sunny locations over a period of several weeks, as it’s possible for plants to suffer sunburn. Keep in mind that tropical plants will not survive outside during the winter in states that are subject to freezing temperatures.

Grass seed can be planted any time of year, but Fall is the best time. Spring is the next best time when the ground temperature is warm. During the Spring, use a lawn fertilizer with a starter fertilizer, rather than a crabgrass preventer, which will keep the seed from germinating.

You’ll usually want to keep your lawn between two and three inches tall. A great rule of thumb is to remove no more than one-third of the blade at a time.

Lawns require about an inch of water each week, either from rain or supplemental methods. Deep waterings that are less frequent are best to help develop strong roots.

Moles eat grubs. If you get rid of the grubs, the moles will look elsewhere for food.

English Gardens artificial Christmas trees range from table-top sizes (2 to 3 feet tall) to 15 feet tall. However, trees that are 7 ½-feet tall are the most commonly purchased. Most homes have an 8-foot ceiling allowing the appropriate amount of room for a tree topper or angel!
