A smoothie is the perfect choice for the New Year; a time when we’re trying most to watch what we eat. Smoothies (made with the right ingredients) provide a powerful boost of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and other nutrients leaving you energized and ready to go, without weighing down your digestive system.
Plus, when you make your own smoothies you know exactly what you’re drinking. Green smoothies made with spinach, kale or cucumber as your main ingredient, will give your body a great dose of antioxidants and phytonutrients. We’ve added basil, mint and parsley to our smoothies for this reason, and the amazing flavor they add!
During the winter, fresh ingredients can be scarce. Planting an indoor herb garden is a great solution!
