Fiddle Leaf Fig
Also known as Ficus Lyrata. Its unique look, and easy care make it a popular choice for Plant Parents. All Ficus plants are native to tropical climates, meaning as house plants, they love humidity and sun. Keeping your plant in a brightly lit area will help it thrive. They also enjoy moist soil. Watering 2-3 times a week should stop the soil from drying out. Some brown spots, or leaf dropping is normal, however, if you notice an excessive amount it means your plant needs more humidity. Adding a humidifier or pebble tray should help. Feed your Fiddle Leaf Fig bi-weekly with liquid plant food.
Aglaonema Spring Snow
Aglaonema Spring Snow is a variety of Chinese Evergreen that is low maintenance and versatile. A good rule to follow is the lighter the variegation the more light the plant needs. Some darker varieties can do great in shade, while lighter varieties need bright indirect light. But always keep away from direct sunlight, where the leaves can get burned. Water your plant thoroughly, allowing the water to run through the pot. Mist the leaves to raise humidity and keep it away from cold drafts or temperatures below 65 degrees. The warmer the spot, the better.
Peperomia
Peperomia come in several varieties and colors, including red, purple, silver and variegated. These plants do best in medium to bright light. They can be grown in low light, but their foliage may lose some variegation. Allow the soil to dry out between waterings. Several varieties are drought tolerant because they store it in their stems. Peperomia are slow growers, but for faster growth, use a water-soluble fertilizer made for house plants.
Rhapis Palm
Also called Lady Palm. These varieties are one of the easier to care for. They are happiest in bright indirect light. Near a window or skylight is best if the sun doesn’t shine directly through. However, these plants adapt well to dimly lit hallways or rooms but will grow more slowly. Palms love moist soil, check the soil often and drench the entire root system when watering to keep it healthy. Turn your palm ¼ turn every week so it grows evenly.
Chinese Fan Palm
Sometimes called a Fountain Palm. Unlike other varieties, Chinese Fan Palms, can tolerate droughts and cold. They are healthiest when given lots of sunlight. Sunny windows, or even an outdoor Patio are best, but they will tolerate low light. Chinese Fan Palms like dry soil. Allowing them to dry out between waterings is best. Prune dead leaves once a year and fertilize regularly to keep it healthy.
