Ivy

Ivy is best known for climbing the exterior of stately buildings, but it also makes a great house plant. Coming in several varieties, Ivy is low-maintenance and great for trailing down cabinets and shelves. The most popular variety, English Ivy, is easy to grow and propagate.

Light

The most important aspect of Ivy Plant care is providing adequate light. Most Ivy varieties prefer bright, indirect light. Some varieties can handle medium lighting conditions, but heavily variegated varieties will start to lose their variegation if not given enough light.

Water

Ivy likes to dry out slightly before watering. Once the soil is dry to the touch, you can give it a good drink.

Make sure your Ivy is in a pot with drainage holes. This plant is sensitive to overly wet soil.

Fertilizer

Fertilize your Ivy monthly in the Spring, Summer and Fall with a water soluble plant food. Hold off on fertilizing during the winter.
