The Money Tree, sometimes called the Pachira Tree, is a smaller indoor tree with a braided trunk making it a fun way to give a tropical flair to your indoor space. Despite its name and no matter how hard you try, it will not, unfortunately, grow money. But it will grow some great feng shui for your home. This plant is said to bring luck and prosperity of all kinds. The Money Tree is relatively low-maintenance making it a great addition to your home.
Light
Money Trees prefer bright, indirect light to medium light. However, they can adjust to lower lighting conditions and can even handle fluorescent lighting. Keep them away from direct light, as their leaves will get scorched.
Water
Your Money Tree likes infrequent, but deep waterings. Allow the top 50-75% of the soil to dry out before giving it a drink. Allow water to run from the bottom of the pot and then empty the tray under the plant to prevent the roots from sitting in water.
Money Trees like high-humidity environments. A sunny, steamy bathroom is a great location for this plant. Although it will do well in other environments a weekly misting will keep it thriving.
Fertilizer
Feed your Money Tree once a month during the Spring and Summer with a balanced liquid plant food.
