I’m sure I am not the only one who has sneaked purchases in the house to avoid sideways glances from a significant other. Whether it be clothes, shoes, jewelry, home decor or yummy lotions from Bath and Body Works, when asked if something is new, “Naw, I’ve had this for awhile” is a very acceptable answer. Things get a little more complicated when it comes to plants. Fresh holes and new mulch are sometimes harder to hide.
Hello, I am Little Miss’ Momma, and I am a plant addict, specifically perennials, but love to plant a variety of annuals in my containers. And I am in need of a secret garden, a place where I can plant any new specimen I may find or multiples of my favorite tried and true perennials.
One summer evening, talking with a co-worker we came up with the Best.Idea.Ever. Planting a Secret Garden. A place where we can go and “relax” before or after work, and plant, weed, mulch, or water a garden just for us. A place where we won’t receive any raised eyebrows or sideways glances when a new plant appears out of the blue. It would be a place that only a special few plant addicts know about and where we can be our crazy, plant loving selves.
Now, with that being said, my hubby, LMD (Little Miss’ Daddy) supports my addiction, but i can only dig up so much grass in our yard, remember we have a 3 year old who loves to play outside.
Only a dream, I know, but wouldn’t it be wonderful?? To all those plant addicts out there, our season is upon us, here’s to a great spring and a wondering planting season! May your garden bring you as much joy as mine does, whether it is a secret or not, but a secret one would be awesome!
