Thumbtacks do have more than one use! This is a great project for kids to work. Simply push thumbtacks into pumpkins in varying patterns and designs.
Tangled Web
This is another no-hassle, project ideal for children. Simply wrap white yarn around the pumpkin, gluing down with hot glue at various points. When you have achieve the desired effect, glue plastic spiders to the pumpkin.
Decoupage Leaves
Send the kids outside to gather fallen leaves for this project! Carefully trace leaves onto orange, yellow and red tissue paper. Cut these tracings out and glue onto pumpkins using decoupage glue. Using a paintbrush, push glue from outer edges towards the center to create the look of “veins.” Allow to dry and apply another layer of glue.
Chalkboard Paint
Paint an entire pumpkin with chalkboard paint or just a small square. Using chalk, draw names or intricate designs and use these pumpkins as place settings!
