It’s time for back to school! When developing your list of what you’ll need for classes or dorm life, be sure to include a plant for your room.
Plants are perfect for busy students. They’re beautiful, purify the air and boost concentration, which can result in higher grades.
Here are our top indoor low maintenance plants:
1. Dieffenbachia – A beautiful variegated plant, Dieffenbachia is perfect for any room with no direct sunlight. Let it dry out between watering.
2. ZZ Plants – This plant has spikes of glossy green leaves, providing a striking look. Water when the soil is dry to the touch. Great for low light conditions
3. Dracaena – With variegated and spikey foliage, Dracaena tolerate low-light and will forgive the occasional missed watering. Water when the soil is dry.
4. Pothos – Variegated, bright neon green or solid dark green foliage, this incredibly low maintenance plant thrives on low light and infrequent watering. Pothos are vines, so either place on a stand by your desk, train it to grow vertically on a trellis or trim the vines to fit in the space.
5. Succulents – From flowering Kalanchoes to healing Aloe, there are so many varieties of succulents to choose from. Try a succulent garden for variety. Water when the soil is thoroughly dry. Succulents like indirect bright light.
6. Spider plants –Available in green or variegated varieties. Plants need occasional pruning and bright indirect sunlight. You can let spider plants dry out between watering.
