Landscape Designer Tim Adam won a Silver Award from the Michigan Green Industry Association (MGIA) for this project. His goal was to create a refreshed living space in the back yard.
This customer spent most of their energy renovating the inside of their home including adding space to the back. When it came time address the outside, there was plenty of room for improvement.
Tim created a functional and beautiful living space in the backyard. He added sitting areas by each exit and connected them with paths and walkways for a cohesive area. Plants and a water feature soften the space to create a comfortable environment.
Plants were selected to provide long-term throughout the summer, while adding a touch of evergreen for the winter. A Japanese Maple provides a focal point off the deck. Boxwoods were planted to frame the fountain. Near the patio, a Limelight Hydrangea adds late summer color and will add some screening from the neighbors as it gets larger.
Inside the walk, Hicks Yews hide the air conditioner and utilities. Perennials throughout add more color.
