Brilliant lights provide a festive atmosphere for the Village of Rochester Hills during the holiday season.
Senior Designer Stephanie VanHaverbeck begins designing the Village light display more than a year in advance. She starts by selecting the colors.
This year, the overhead lighting will shine green with a touch of ruby red LED lighting. Trees around the perimeter of the mall will glisten in a combination of sapphire and Caribbean blue LED lights. The community tree in Fountain Park will feature ruby red and white LED lights in a candy cane pattern.
English Gardens crews begin installing more than 300,000 lights at the beginning of September working for about 10 weeks to prepare for the annual “Light The Village” Ceremony on Friday, November 22 at dusk.
“Seeing and hearing the reaction of the crowds and enjoying the atmosphere created by the lights and the community gathering is my favorite part of this annual ceremony,” says Stephanie.
This year’s Lighting Ceremony is Friday, November 22.
