A huge Thank You to all the customers who participated in our Round-Up for Charity Program for August. Because of your generosity, English Gardens donated $4,430 to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Detroit. To date, English Gardens has donated more than $100,000 to various organizations through their Round Up for Charity Program.
This August, English Gardens stores across Metro Detroit are raising money for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Detroit through our “Round Up for Charity” program.
To raise funds, English Gardens is asking customers to round up their purchases to the nearest whole dollar amount or more. All of the money raised will be donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters which will help provide financial resources to build program capacity to move youths off waiting lists, enhance recruiting efforts, strengthen services for social, emotional and educational support, and educate the community on the invaluable role of Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Detroit was formed in 1974 when 5 local organizations merged. The goal of Brothers Big Sisters is to create a one-on-one mentoring relationship that helps youth achieve their full potential through better academic performance, achieving their goals, experiencing meaningful relationships, seeing a better outlook on life, and avoiding risky behavior. They now serve 1,000 kids annually through their mentoring program. Learn more at www.bbbsdetroit.org.
The “Round Up for Charity” program at English Gardens was launched in 2017, and has raised money to build a Tiny Home, a program with Cass Community Social Services, the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute to support breast cancer research, the American Red Cross, Forgotten Harvest, Capuchin Soup Kitchen and the Judson Center.
