This October, English Gardens stores across Metro Detroit are raising money for Cass Community Social Services: Tiny Homes Detroit program through our “Round Up for Charity” program.
To raise funds, English Gardens is asking customers to round up their purchases to the nearest whole dollar amount or more. All of the money raised will be donated to the Cass Community Social Services: Tiny Home Detroit Program, which builds tiny homes for the formally homeless, seniors, college students, and other low-income individuals. The program is currently building 25 tiny homes under 400 square feet. Residents will rent their home for the first 7 years with the opportunity to own it after that.
Cass Community Social Services provides food, housing for men, women and children experiencing homelessness each night, health care, and a day program for adults with developmental disabilities, as well as job training and placement. The “Round Up for Charity” program at English Gardens was launched in 2017, and has raised money for the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute to support breast cancer research, the American Red Cross, Forgotten Harvest, Capuchin Soup Kitchen, the Judson Center, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and the American Heart Association.
