A dazzling display of springtime color, plus photo contest prizes from English Gardens.
One of the surest signs of Spring’s arrival in Southeast Michigan is about to burst into a torrent of vibrant color.
White Chapel Memorial Park Cemetery in Troy is launching its annual tulip display – Southeast Michigan’s largest – a spectacular palette of blooms with all the dazzle of Holland’s best, without the cross-state drive.
The 2016 tulip display promises to be the best show ever. White Chapel has planted more than 50,000 tulips across 4 walkable acres. Rich and colorful combinations will blossom into a vivid sea of petals. This year, the gardens of White Chapel will feature 30 different tulip varieties, including favorites like Red Impressions, White Triumphators, and Orange Emperors, to name a few. Plus, there will be rarer blooms like hot pink Barcelonas, yellow and red La Courtines and double pink Capetowns.
Open to the public during normal business hours (8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. every day), White Chapel encourages local tulip aficionados, garden and photo clubs, church groups and families to come and enjoy this remarkable rite of Spring.
And White Chapel has made it easier for everyone to participate in its 6th Annual Tulip Festival Photo Contest by adding a “Selfie” prize category along with its traditional photo awards. And they’ve partnered with EnglishGardens to offer gift cards to photo contest award winners.
